Equipping Well No. 144

 

Description:

Equipping Well No. 144 project consisted of equipping Well No. 144 with a 1,250 hp deep well vertical turbine pumping unit within a masonry block building, variable frequency drive (VFD) unit (located within a separate air conditioned electrical equipment room of the masonry block building), sodium hypochlorite disinfection and future aqueous ammonia disinfection equipment (each within separate rooms of the masonry block building), discharge piping, blowoff piping and appurtenances, and electrical service facilities.  Site improvements included grading within an existing site block wall, Class II base, and site and building security systems.

Services Provided:

Krieger & Stewart provided design engineering services, including preliminary design, equipment selection, design survey, system hydraulic modeling, final design, and contract document preparation for construction.  Krieger & Stewart also provided limited construction phase services, which included review of pumping unit and electrical equipment submittals; electrical inspection; and facility startup, performance testing, and acceptance.  Krieger & Stewart provided all of the civil, structural, mechanical, architectural, electrical, and instrumentation design.
