Nandina Recycled Water Pump Station Modifications

Nandina Recycled Water Pump Station Modifications


Description:

The Nandina Recycled Water Booster Station was designed to pump 4,200 gpm of recycled water from the Moreno Valley Regional Water Reclamation Facility tertiary storage ponds to the District’s 1627 Pressure Zone using three VFD controlled vertical turbine pumping units with 125 hp motors.  Project facilities included:  VFD controlled vertical turbine booster pump station; discharge piping, valves, fittings, flow meters, and algae/debris screens; pond influent rate of flow control station; ten pond inlet/outlet structures with rough screens and isolation valves; sunshade structure, concrete equipment pad, and electrical panel air conditioning system; new SCE electrical service; remote telemetry unit and Plant SCADA integration; electrical switchgear; site piping; and site grading.

Services Provided:

Krieger & Stewart provided design engineering services, including records search; design survey; preliminary design; hydraulic analyses; equipment selection; utility service application, design, and coordination; detailed design; and contract document preparation.  Krieger & Stewart also provided bid phase services and construction engineering support services to Eastern Municipal Water District, including field inspection of electrical, control, and instrumentation work; facility control strategy preparation; preparation of electronic O&M manual preparation for facility and equipment; and District operations staff training.
