Description:
Menifee/Perris I Iron and Manganese Removal Treatment Facilities project consists of an 8,200 gpm pretreatment facility for an existing reverse osmosis water treatment plant. Treatment facilities include: catalytic oxidation and filtration provided by five filter pressure vessel; sodium hypochlorite and sodium bisulfite chemical feed systems; onsite sodium hypochlorite generation with facilities ranging from 75 pounds of chlorine per day to 600 pounds of chlorine per day at 10 well sites and main plant; 3,000 gpm backwash booster station; 800 gpm recycle water booster station; two 160,000 gallon glass lined bolted steel storage tanks for backwash and recycled water storage; and automated control valve systems for maintaining constant feed pressure to the existing reverse osmosis plant. The project involved working closely with and as an extension to District staff. Constructability and sequencing considerations were an integral portion of both the design and construction engineering services.
