Description:
The Diamond Valley (Searl II) Booster Station was designed for initial capacity of 3,600 gpm using three 100 hp, 1,800 gpm vertical turbine pumping units, with a provision to accommodate the ultimate capacity of 11,700 gpm using four 250 hp, 4,000 gpm pumping units. The project facilities included a dual energy system with two natural gas engine driven pumps and one electric driven pump; chlorine generation system with future ammonia facilities; and prefabricated metal building to house pumping units, chlorine generation system, and electrical equipment. The project involved working closely with and as an extension to District staff.
Services Provided:
Krieger & Stewart provided design services (including hydraulic analyses, pumping unit selection, and preparation of contract documents) and construction engineering services. Krieger & Stewart performed all of the civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation design.
