Twin D Recycled Water Pump Station

Description:

Twin D Recycled Water Pump Station, Calavera Recycled Water Pump Station, and Bressi Recycled and Potable Water Pump Stations projects consisted of hydraulic analyses, network modeling, and control strategy (seasonal and daily) for the City’s entire multi-pressure zone recycled water system ($44 million distribution system).  The Twin D Recycled Water Pump Station included four 1,500 gpm vertical turbine pumping units with variable frequency drives, 10,000 gallon surge tank with air compressor and automatic water level control system, 2,500 gpm automatic bypass system, and modifications to existing 1.0 MG recycled water storage reservoirs.  The Calavera Recycled Water Pump Station included three 600 gpm vertical turbine pumping units with variable frequency drives, 1,800 gallon hydropneumatic surge tank with air compressor and automatic water level control system, and masonry block pump building constructed in hillside (9′ retaining height).  The Bressi Recycled and Potable Water Pump Stations included two belowgrade reinforced concrete pump stations on the same site (potable water and recycled water), three 1,100 gpm vertical turbine pumps with variable frequency drives for the recycled water pump station, three 1,250 gpm vertical turbine pumps for the potable water pump station, 2,800 gallon hydropneumatic surge tank with air compressor and automatic water level control system for the recycled water pump station, and 2,100 gallon suction surge tank with air compressor and automatic water level control system for the potable water pump station.
